MRI reports (i.e. from the radiologist) are usually written with from the perspective of whether an invasive procedure might be required to ease the patient’s pain (injection or surgery).
However, MRI scans and the images they produce can also provide invaluable insights that will help manual / physical therapists determine the best treatment techniques and advice to provide so their patients achieve optimum outcomes.
For example, (in conjunction and correlation with clinical findings) spinal MRI may help determine:
- When McKenzie Extension Exercises may and may not be appropriate for a patient with a disc protrusion.
- Help identify the precise source of a patient pain.
- Indicate when stabilisation technique./ exercises may be more appropriate than mobilisation (and vice versa)
- When electrotherapy and or other mechanical therapeutic modalities may be more appropriate than manual therapy of exercise advice.
During these small group, interactive, online coaching sessions (with a maximum Number of 10 participants) your coaching will present several examples case studies where this has proved to be the case. You will also have the chance to share your screen, present your own cases and MRI images of your patients, in order to seek advice and opinions from the group and your coach(es).
