During this one hour webinar, esteemed consultant radiologist, Dr Sajid Butt, from the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital will be covering the important aspects of lumbar spine pathology seen on MRI, and teach you how best to decide which patients need a surgical referral, and which patients can respond to conservative treatment, including realistic time frames for returning patients to work. Understanding The Basic of MRI of the Spine – An ABC Approach
Our training system has been designed by therapists for therapists (and other allied professionals. Unlike some courses taught by experts in the field resulting in much of the content “going over your head”, we will guide you through our systematic approach for understanding the “normal” anatomy of the spine as seen on MRI. Carefully and logically explaining the different views and sequences, including those which usually come as standard and those which often have to be requested when referring for an MRI scan. Understanding Spinal Pathology
Following on from our ABC approach for analysing spinal MRI’s during this in-depth 90 minute webinar we will demonstrate how to determine common degenerative and pathological problems seen on MRI. In our experience, these features are all too often missed or not fully reported on MRI reports. If and when this occurs this can lead to a devastating wild goose chase for patients labeled with various (bogus) “hypothetical” Back Pain syndromes, all the while when time and proper scrutiny of the MRI scan would have revealed the answers. This is essential learning for any clinicians or therapists dealing with Back Pain conditions. For a sample recording of this webinar click here

Using MRI to Aid the Choice of Manual / Physical Therapy Intervention
MRI reports (i.e. from the radiologist) are usually written with from the perspective of whether an invasive procedure might be required to ease the patient’s pain (injection or surgery). However, MRI scans and the images they produce can also provide invaluable insights that will help manual / physical therapists determine the best treatment techniques and advice to provide so their patients achieve optimum outcomes During these small group, interactive, online coaching your coaching will present several examples case studies where this has proved to be the case. You will also have the chance to share your screen, present your own cases and MRI images of your patients, in order to seek advice and opinions from the group and your coach(es).
